Democratic Party accuses prosecution of complicity in Yoon Suk Yeol's insurrection, after procedural issues surrounding Yoon's detention led to his release from jail

Lawmakers of South Korea's main opposition Democratic Party of Korea, including Chair Rep. Lee Jae-myung (front, third from left), hold signs saying, "Arrest the insurrection leader!" at the main building of the National Assembly on Sunday, a day after suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol was released from jail.
In a meeting held prior to the event earlier in the day, the main opposition party denounced the prosecution, which decided not to appeal the Seoul Central District Court's revocation of Yoon's arrest warrant, allowing the suspended president to walk free after 52 days behind bars. It accused the chief prosecutor of being complicit in Yoon's self-coup.
Yoon, who plunged the nation into political chaos with his botched Dec. 3 martial law declaration, is currently on trial for impeachment as well as on criminal trial for leading an insurrection.
